Privacy Policy
The short version
- We collect only what we need to run Dreamoon: an account identifier, your subscription status, and what you listen to.
- No ads, no advertising trackers, and we never sell or share your data for advertising.
- We don’t access your microphone, contacts, location or health data.
- You can delete your account and data from inside the app at any time.
1. Who we are
Dreamoon (the “app”, “we”, “us”) is made and run by an independent developer based in the United States, who is the controller of your personal data. You can reach us at support@dreamoon.app.
This policy covers the Dreamoon iPhone app and the website dreamoon.app.
2. What we collect
Account
- If you use Dreamoon without signing in, the app creates a random identifier on your device so your subscription and favorites can be linked to it.
- If you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique Apple user identifier and, if you choose to share them, your name and email address. If you choose to hide your email, we receive an Apple relay address instead.
- Your language, time zone and the country we infer from your IP address when you create an account.
Purchases
- When you subscribe, Apple sends us the product you bought, its price and currency, your App Store country, the transaction identifiers and dates, and later renewals, cancellations or refunds.
- Apple handles the payment itself. We never see your card or bank details.
Listening activity
- What you play, how far you got, your favorites and your listening history, so the app can pick up where you left off and work across your devices.
- Simple usage events, such as opening the app, starting or finishing a track, or viewing the subscription screen, so we can understand what works and fix what doesn’t.
Technical data
- App version, device type and operating system version, and your IP address in short-lived security and login logs.
Messages
- If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can help you.
3. What we don’t do
- We don’t show ads or include advertising or cross-app tracking tools, and we don’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
- We don’t sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising.
- Our meditations and stories are produced in advance. Your personal data is not used to generate them and is not sent to AI providers.
4. Why we use it
- To provide the app: your account, subscription, downloads, favorites and progress. This is necessary to perform our agreement with you.
- To keep it secure: preventing fraud, abuse and duplicate purchases. This is our legitimate interest.
- To improve it: understanding which content and features people use, in aggregate. This is our legitimate interest.
- To meet legal obligations: for example, keeping transaction records for tax and accounting.
5. Who helps us run Dreamoon
We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf and only under our instructions:
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, App Store payments and subscriptions.
- Cloudflare: website hosting, DNS, content delivery, audio and image storage, and forwarding of email sent to our support address.
- Our cloud hosting provider: the servers and database that run our backend.
- Our email provider: the mailbox where support emails arrive.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or ourselves.
6. Where your data is processed
Our providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where the law requires it, such as for data from the EU, the UK or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards like the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. How long we keep it
- Account and listening data: as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize this data within 30 days.
- Transaction records: as long as tax and accounting laws require, even after you delete your account.
- Security and login logs: for a limited period, then they are deleted.
- Support emails: until your question is resolved and for a reasonable time afterwards, in case you write again.
8. Your choices and rights
- Delete your account in the app under Settings → Account → Delete account. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel an App Store subscription; cancel it in your iPhone’s Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.
- Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, to object to or restrict certain uses, and to withdraw consent. Email us and we’ll respond within the time the law requires.
- If you are in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
- California residents: we don’t sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in California law, and we won’t treat you differently for exercising your rights.
9. Children
Dreamoon isn’t directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we don’t knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If the changes are significant, we’ll also let you know in the app before they take effect.
